Soo... I finally got a report for a PRODUCTION RM1000 and the caps are in fact SAMXON GF 3300uF, 16V, 105°C. They ran the PSU at full load w/o fan in a 25°C lab and measured those cap's housings at only 51.4°C and 46.8°C.

So apparently those FETs and "busbars" aren't radiating too much heat.

Why send a different unit out for reviewing?

How long did the PSU run? 1 min before the OTP shut the unit down or even less?

A different unit wasn't sent out for reviewing. The unit I had with the different caps is an engineering sample. The unit TPU has is the same caps that any retail unit would have.

Hmm.... paper doesn't say. I'll have to ask.

So no Samxon GF, but Capxon KF then? Those are in the review units.

Your not really making any sense now.

Yeah, as far as I understand, Jon's ES unit has Samxon, which fits, since CWT loves Samxon. Production units hold CapXon.

Jonny had Matsuki caps, review units had CapXon, and retail Samxon?

if there is a shortage in caps the factory may get other brands to replace them and keep the production going.

Nope, if I remember correctly, each OEM has an approved vender's list they can choose from.
