Default Need help on a Raidmax PSU.

    Hello
    I am new here.
I've been searching for reviews of the Raidmax RMX 500 Psu, but i can't find any on the internet.
I've been using the psu for about 3-4 years and it has been working flawlessly.
I am not very good at electronics and I need your help on this.
How does the electronics part look on this PSU?

If you know any good reviews on this psu please post link.
    Thanks in advance.

PS: This is the 2x80mm fan version. I also have the 1x120mm one.

This is a crappy Sun Pro PSU. But in this model a 120mm fan isn't possible, the heat sinks are to big. Are you sure its the same unit, with only smaller heatsinks?

This is the 120mm fan model.

    How crappy are these PSUs?
Do they have any protections like OVP ?

The 2x80mm one is powering an Intel E2200 processor with a Radeon 6670 + 1 WD Hard Drive + some USB crap. (GF's computer)
The 1x120mm one is powering an Amd FX6100 with integrated graphics on mainboard (Radeon HD 3000) + 1 WD Hard drive. (Mom's computer)
I also have a Raidmax 530SS powering my main rig with an Amd FX6300 and a Radeon R9 270 card + 1 Seagate Hard drive.

They all belong in the garbage. They have no protections at all, and will go kaboom if loaded more than 250W, and will all fail after three or four years because of using cheap caps and fans. I've blown up at least half a dozen of these cheap Sun Pro PSUs since I've had a load tester. (see http://hardwareinsights.com/wp/the-2...ply-roundup/2/)
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards

Main PC: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600, 240GB Intel 335 Series SSD, 750GB WD HDD, Sony Optiarc DVD RW, Palit nVidia GTX660 Ti, CoolerMaster N200 Case, Delta DPS-600MB 600W PSU, Hauppauge TV Tuner, Windows 7 Home Premium.

From what i've heard my 530SS has internals from Aerocool Zero-DBA.
Is that rumour true? Or is it just a rebranded SunPro, like the other two?

Also crap, this one already has some leaking capacitors after only 3 years of use.

There are two different Raidmax RX-530SS PSU's, Hybrid and Hybrid 2.

The first one is an Andyson: http://www.rom.by/forum/RX-530SS_i_o...eskoe_reshenie this one is definitely better then your SunPro.

Something like that would do fine to replace them - http://www.dc-shop.ro/surse/sursa-se...s12-ii-430w-l/

It's about the cheapest really good PSU they seem to have
