    Talking Corsair AX1500i Review

Once in a while, something comes along in the power supply world that promises not only the moon, but the rest of the solar system as well. Today's review unit looks to break new ground not just for efficiency, but for offering sheer mind melting power with the kind of stability that was unheard of back when I started reviewing power supplies. People, today's review unit is the brand new 80 Plus Titanium Corsair AX1500i. Let's see if it lives up to our rather lofty expectations.

    Sweet Jeebus.

I honestly thought you would dock them for the manual though.

I thought about it, but it's already a large enough document. If I held everyone to Silverstone's documentation standards, nobody but Silverstone would ever get a 10 in that category.

I'd have probably given them a nick for the documentation and for the software but when those are your gripes they're doing something right in my book.

Wow it's finally on the table and better than expected!
Two of these will do nicely in the SR2 leviathan. 95% efficiency (230V) at half load. Perfect and really good regulation to boot!

0.1% ripple on 12V in the hot test? Holy hell. Most PSU engineers would be very happy if their design produced 10 times that amount of ripple! Well deserving of a perfect 10.

Voltage regulation, you mean? This unit did about 10% of the ATX spec for 12V ripple. Not easy at all to do better than that, but IIRC some of my Delta built units have.

    That was like geek porn.

If I'd ever need 1500W, I would have seriously considered it. Alas, I don't. But it's engineering excellence right there.

Don't we all have 2x R9-295X quad GPU setups to power?

(Which, by the way, requires the user to fire up Link to turn off the OCP, I've found.)
