Default What's the best overall PSU regarding price and reliability?

I'm quite perplexed about which power supply to choose for a new rig i'm building. The budget is 750USD and from what I can tell, I need around 600watts. I was initially looking at the corsair CX600m, but after reading many forums, I feel unsure about it, even though it's only 45$ on newegg at the moment. The corsair tx650 also seems enticing as well, but now I feel sorta gun shy regarding corsair power supplys.

Many have mentioned only to buy XFX or seasonic PSUs, although i've been very happy with a 750w Rosewill Hive that I've used previously. I could spend more than 750$ if need be, seeing as a good PSU is quite important.

Any suggestions or comments would make my life much easier.

There's nothing wrong with Corsair PSU's, as a whole. Although I'm not up on each individual model. The have so many and use multiple OEM's. I'm sure someone here more knowledgeable of the specific models can give you a solid recommendation.

The TX650 is an older design psu from Corsair, back when they were known for using good quality caps in all their power supplies. So you can go with that one in confidence. BTW, I used to have one in my main rig until I upgraded to a Seasonic X650, and had no problems with it. It's still around running somewhere (I think at my brother's house).

The Rosewill Capstone (modular) 450W is a good choice. Corsair CXM series uses CapXon caps which aren't known for their reliability.

Count me as one who isn't a fan of the Corsair CX series. Too many corners cut. Makes a good OEM PSU, but I wouldn't use it unless other options are out of the question.

Its tough to beat Seasonic, XFX, and the Rosewill Capstone in that sub-$80 range. The TX650 is very good too, but its a little more money.

How do you guys feel about the Rosewill Green RG630? From what I saw in reviews, it's a pretty good power supply.

It's OK, nothing special about it. Why not the Rosewill Capstone 450W or the modular one? For the price its the best thing you can get, except if there is something on sale of course.
