Sad day indeed. Looks like we won't be seeing many more reviews from Gabriel.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards

I hadn't heard that. Must have been longer than I thought since I heard from him last.

Well that sucks, but I can understand where he's coming from. I've been on the sidelines for a bit myself dealing with personal matters.

interesting take on the decline of US.
From my point of view, there has been a steady decline for most of my life...slowed most noticeably by Ronald Reagan...but unfortunately never completely reversed.

Has it accelerated the last few years? for sure.
Have we reached the tipping point of no return? time will tell.

Would be interesting to hear the specifics from a Brazilian perspective.

Well, I read it more of fear of NSA, immigration enforcement, collapse of society from income inequality ...etc. etc.

But, yeah, if it is just that you can't find a job...that happens everywhere.
Italy and Greece...not wanting to pay my natural gas bill in Ukraine next year...or just try to stay alive in Syria...

Not perfect...but many places come to mind that it is a great deal better than just now..IMHO

Depends on your priorities. And, IIRC, for Gabe and his family it had to do with healthcare.

Just saw this, visited the site a few times in the last few months and was wondering what happened. I think Brazil has been making strides in the right direction for a few years now (since Lula), but there's still a long way to go for them to reach institutional and social standards comparable to what we see in Europe/Japan/SK/etc. I won't include the US in the enumeration since I don't believe they constituted anything resembling a desirable standard since the early 70s.

You can't mean that, the dude should have been hanged... for the Reagam-Thatcher revolution alone, not even gonna mention the Nicaragua affair, the Iranian issue, the war on drugs and everything else.
