    Arrow Coolermaster V850 Review

A little while ago, I looked at a new Coolermaster unit that marked a dramatic departure for the company. Known as the V1000, it showed all of us that Coolermaster was no longer content with their middle of the pack position in the marketplace. It was an amazing unit indeed, but can the company keep the momentum going? The brand new V850 is here today to help us answer that very question.

Did the fan get abnormally loud like it did for you before?

Excellent review Wolf, glad to see Cooler Master make such a turnaround.

This unit has been on sale at the egg for the last few weeks.
At $110, now $116 with shipping, it is certainly the value leader in 850 watts.

Get it while you can...I doubt that the sale price will hold long term.

We've actually gotten a lot of user feedback about the CPU cable. It was just an oversight by the old PM team. We can't implement a running change on this, but starting soon we'll be able to send out a new CPU cable free on user request. They just have to pay shipping, about $2 usually for a brown envelope. Future power supplies 850W and up should have dual CPU cables standard, and premium 750Ws as well.

Don't call for a new cable quite yet though! We only have 3 or 4 spares at the moment, I'll post when we get the shipment of 500.

Interesting comment there: the product management team was recently replaced? Is that what prompted the greater focus on quality power supplies from Cooler Master (btw, what is the company's preferred style when using standard fonts)?

    Not replaced, just reorganized.
