primary caps rarely fail. the secondary are what to worry about but also the cooling and most of all the circuit design that it does not stress the caps. still you just have to see what happens. even the crappy brands can have a reasonably long service in a psu. except if its an antec

    OR Enermax...

I've had many PSU's with Fuhjyyu caps and they ran perfectly for about 3 years plus 6 hours/day usage. Just need decent cooling and good air flow running through the internals and pushed in the right direction, out. I don't recall at all but maybe its the sealing on them thats not as tight because shell-life depletes by known factors with every 10C rise which'll make the average cap life 3 years, so even being at the lower end they should survive.. but since they're not hermetically sealed, the electrolyte probably evaporates quicker than expected causing increased ESR, which causes buildup of heat more than expected or tolerated and the safety seal on filter caps just pops...
What you don't need to create is negative pressures inside the system case with a massive peripheral fan which'll suck air into it and make life difficult to cool and drag air in through the PSU. I made a mistake a while back seeing Fuhjjyu primary caps and replacing them with ELNA ones with a higher temperature tolerance, capacitance and voltage rating and high ripple; which was a useless move in the end. They would've done just fine but the paranoia got to me being in industry back then, as a preventative measure, in industries they replace filter caps every 3 years at the very least.

imho cooling is not everything. the design can stress the caps.

Default Thanks for coming over here will.

For those that don't know. willawake is THE go to guy over at badcaps.net for most any general computer hardware repair at the componet level. He is sharp and his overall knowledge considerable. *tips hat to will*
What he offers is not to be discounted.
Worth a good looking over. http://www.badcaps.net/

Yes will. Thanks for the FAQ there, and the badcap list. I've pointed to it many times and you're right about colling not being everything, undoubtedly
