Default Antec TP Cont 750w fan replacement?

I have an Antec TP 750w (one of these.

Generally very happy with the PSU. But...

I'm pulling around 600w from this which is well into it's "ramp" period on the fan so noise as a result is probably in the 40db region making it easily the noisiest component in my rig.

Considering the fans a 4 pin PWM style one and there's more than a few options in this direction (and the fact it looks to be a simple "plug in" type effort (perhaps with a bit of fiddling extracting the pins from the plug, opening them up, sticking them on a new fan lead etc as most PWM fans will come with a mobo header)) what would be a quieter fan that could be used as a replacement that would fit the bill for the cooling needs? I'm struggling a bit to find the data on the built in fan to compare to alternative options.

Are there any major pitfalls I might be stumbling near unaware with this line of thought? (I'm aware of warranty invalidation but I can live with that, every Antec PSU I've owned has happily soldiered on through 3+ builds).

Actually, a little more googling aaaaand:

    Fan Specifications:

    •Presure: 0.136 inches

    •Rated Voltage: 12V

    •Power: 4.44W

    •Rated Current: 0.37A

    •Seven-bladed fan

    •Dimensions: 120x120x25mm

    •Rated Speed: 2200 RPM

    •Ball bearing fan

    •Max Air Flow: 85.2 CFM

•Sound Level: up to 39.1 dB

So... it's a (pretty standard?) 12v PWM fan? I just need something with similar static pressure and flow with less noise and I'm golden?

You don't wanna lower airflow or cooling power in any way on that PSU - it uses mediocre caps that won't handle heat well.

Are NCC KY and KZE no good?
    Here and there

As for the fan: The specs of the new fan should be as good as the old one. Probably they need to bee PWM regulated...

Spent a while on frozen CPU trawling through looking for a fan in spec and... yeah, I don't think it's all that doable looking at it.

Anyone happen to know something in the right ballpark that's going to be quieter?

    Alternatively.

Any suggests for a PSU that's:

    A decent brand
    Can pull ~600w @ ~32db?

I'm not toooo snobby on the PSU front so considering options like bequiet etc at the moment.

If you want a pretty quiet PSU, they're still the best choice as 'the others' don't realls do quiet/silent PSUs (anymore??)

Nah, Those G series do get quite loud when you approach full load. Something like a Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 650 or 750W would be perfect.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards

Main PC: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600, 240GB Intel 335 Series SSD, 750GB WD HDD, Sony Optiarc DVD RW, Palit nVidia GTX660 Ti, CoolerMaster N200 Case, Delta DPS-600MB 600W PSU, Hauppauge TV Tuner, Windows 7 Home Premium.

I've tried the 550W G-Series with an FX8350 system and a HD7970GHz edition and the PSU is, like the Triathlor, louder than the Gigabyte Windforce 3X (wich isn't that quiet under load)...

I had a 650W version of this PSU at some point and it had crap caps. I assumed this one had the same. Sorry.

I've used both the 360W models and 550W models, and I own two 360W (well, sold one, so own one now), and they were all quiet even under load.
