Hi all,
Found this very helpful forum via a user on Amazon.com stating GO HERE FIRST in regards to PSU advice. I'm going to be upgrading my older (4 yr old) pc and am looking to get some new components to beef it up a bit. I've been researching for a while and I am just overwhelmed with info and choices for PSU's and I am looking for some advice from a power user to guide me a bit.
My objective is to beef up the PC's GPU so that I can get back into PC gaming again, and to do that it means more power. Here are the Specs on the computer right now, you'll notice its lacking in the graphics dept:
ATi Radeon 4300 series GPU - intel i5 2.66 ghz Processor - Asus P7p55-m Mobo - 1Tb HD- 350W PSU - Windows 7 32 bit (working on getting a disc from Micro$oft for 64 bit) - 4GB ram (gonna get more)
Ultimately to use a Radeon 6000-7000 series would be ideal for me, but I'm not sure what PSU to even start from/if my current setup can even handle it.
Budget max on the PSU would have to be $150, but I'd like it more around $80-100
I've heard mixed reviews about Cooler Master and NZXT, which were two companies I was looking at, any advice to a noob builder is appreciated, thanks!
