    Those are such a heap of shit every time i see one i blow them up .... With 1000V
    I usually say 1 point off per tier below Jap caps.

    OST, Taicon, Some chinese polies = 1 point off
    Teapo, CapXon, LTEC, ChengX = 2 points
    Fuhjyyu/JunFu/AsiaX = 3 points
    Sacon = 4 points

    Isn't Teapo (the green ones, not the black or brown ones) pretty good, compared to the other stuff?

    Sorry, I don't understand your obsession with japanese caps...

    tbh, I would take 5 points off for any non Japanese cap and 2 or 3 points off for full Jap cap units... I would take no points off for European caps and I would add points for tech that bypasses the caps altogether.

    Supposedly, but I've had better luck with CapXon than Teapo. The reason for my strong preference is because none of the Taiwanese or Chinese (with the exception of the few in the 1-point-off category) brands hold up very well in the Aussie climate.

    Seems fair, i wouldn't discredit Taicon and OST though, 1 point deduction yes
    But i really really hate Capxon and Teapo ... Those bastards blew up right in front of me

    At least someone agrees with me on Teapo

    I think that he meant that thos 'non japanese cap panic' is just bullshit and you don't need full japanese. There are other caps that can do pretty fine, if treated correctly.

    You can't say that a certain capacitor is bad for a PSU if you don't know hof the PSU treats that particular cap. Temperature is just one factor of many, the ripple current is something that's always missed. So if you have some polymer caps before the electrolyte ones, they shold be fine and last longer than the other way around.

    And even japanese caps can fail!
    Especially if they are treated badly, like very high ripple current and high temperatures...
