I own the Seasonic Platinum SS-860XP...I haven't loaded it up all the way, but I've run it for almost a year now and using my voltmeter to check under load while gaming, I can vouch for it's rock solid voltage regulation. And, it's quiet. I don't think I've ever heard the fan and I have Fan Control on "Normal". Can't go wrong with it, IMHO. I bought it for future expansion, but it's still way more than I need, or will probably need. Still, it's nice to know I have the extra juice and will likely not need to buy another PSU unless I just want too...or until Titanium efficiency is the norm. That said, the Corsair you had is a good unit and I really wouldn't hesitate to run one of those myself. The failure of it is suspect to me, but I'd probably get it fixed/replaced and keep it as a backup in case you find yourself in this situation again...
