My theory is what I've mentioned in some of my posts before:
It's a combination of all these issues.

That's not at all what the Cyberpower tech wrote.
It may work, it may not, it depends on allot of factors.
I've mentioned them before but the main factor is where in the sine wave cycle the power...

Of course it does.
The grid has gone away so the bulk capacitor is discharging.
It will discharge until hopefully the UPS has switched over before it's depleted.

The issue stems from the use of APFC as I mentioned.
APFC tries to make a PSU appear as a resistive load to the grid.
It does this by boosting the voltage to around 400v over the entire sine wave....

Wow, didn't even know such UPS existed!
So can the OP please say what UPS he has so we don't need to play the guessing game still on page 5?

Nobody can know that.
But ideally APFC PSU's should be used with true sine wave UPS systems.
That's because the APFC circuit is really only designed for true sine waves.
The old Passive PFC or no...

No, a true square wave UPS would be fine, the peak voltage would only need to be 325v to simulate a 230VAC TRMS sine wave.
(230VAC has a peak voltage or resistive heating value if you will of √2 x...

The reference version of the Vega 64 has only tantalum capacitors.
In any capacitor the stored energy is a factor of voltage, generally most tantalum capacitors are quite low voltage.
So without...
