When you get home next year, get a modern case for your system. Cases are much improved since the days of top-mounted PSU's. Good ones are cheap, too. So take your time, get one that fits your needs.

If you plan to use an always-on PSU, who cares what its efficiency is? In the worst case scenario of energy usage, the PSU will be adding its heat after it has drawn its cooling air from the case.

Get a new case. Good ones are cheap, now. Then get a good PSU and site its intake so it draws air from outside. You don't need your PSU cooling your system.
