Yup. I've also had the exact opposite - the box was damaged and bashed very badly, but the PSU itself was fine. It happened to some that Testakraze sent me a couple of years ago.

It's not just that they focus on ripple, it's more that they call any form of oscillations, whether they be jagged or smooth, ripple (mainly for the sake of simplicity) and admittedly, I've been...

Agreed. That thing should have almost no degradation at all in performance after 3 years. It should even be holding up fine in 10 years time.

Wow. I never knew it would be that pronounced at a low fan speed. Wire grilles FTW, then.

I've heard plenty of complaints form all OEMs. Maybe a few more from Seasonic than others, but not a lot. Personally, I've seen, tested and used hundreds of Seasonic (branded or OEM) PSUs over the...

ALL power supplies are hit and miss with electrical noise from the coils. You may or may not get it, regardless of what PSU you get. You should never pick a PSU based on complaints about coil...

The R4s are pretty good at sound dampening. You won't hear either PSU in that case.

We actually built a PC in the R4 for a customer who specifically asked for a quiet PC. We used a Seasonic G-450...

Another problem I have wit that fan grille (and the back grille too) is that it is too restrictive. Not that I would score on it if the unit stays cool and doesn't get too loud, but I only like...

People rarely write reviews on products unless they have problems. Most of the time, if the product works (which it does 9 times out of 10), then people rarely write in about it.

I'm pretty sure that one's an ACBel Polytech. It's kind of OK (even if it is group regulated), but I don't have high hopes for those LTEC caps after more than 5 years or so.

Pop the cover and have a peak inside. If you see busted caps, you know it definitely has a problem. It looks like that unit has Samxon GF series caps, which aren't great. I've fixed the 750W version...

That capstone is about as good a value as PSUs get.

If you need something a bit cheaper, then this would work too -...

That shouldn't have affected anything. The PSU should have continued to function just fine without it. It's generally recommended to have at least 2 caps, but it's only there to prevent...

Yup. It's fun. The only thing I actually had to pay for on the Delta was the caps. I scavenged the replacement fan and wires from another dead PSU.

Wow! I've never seen that happen before.

My last graphics card was a GTX295. It did require the extra two pins to be connected. Otherwise, it wouldn't even display, and would try to to Boeing 727 impersonations with the fan.

I'm pretty sure that's true - the label is wrong about the rail configuration. Every S12II Bronze re-badge I've seen (from Antec and XFX) has been single rail.
