It has a 30A Fast Recovery on the 12V and a 20A schottky on the 5v and 3.3v. It's about the first $20 unit I've tested that's not 5V heavy.

EDIT: The controller IC is an SD6109. It does support...

I just blew the Numan "580W" up. It did 300W in spec, but after a few minutes at 350W, we had an impressive display of fireworks. I'll save the video and everything else for later, but for now,...

FPCAP is actually just a range made by Nichicon. It is what's left of Fujitsu's capacitor business after Nichicon acquired it.

I just bought myself a cheap $23 PSU to play with. A Numan branded "580 Watter" It looks a bit like the Hercules unit Wolf tested on the outside (with he punched honeycomb fan grille).

I was kind...

I'd love to but I doubt if I'd be able to afford the shipping. And 12A on the 12V rail?!

Yes, JunFool and AsiaX are just re-sleeved Fuhjyyu caps.

It kinda reminds me of this one, actually - http://hardwareinsights.com/wp/the-2012-el-cheapo-power-supply-roundup/9/ . Your one...

That would have been my next suggestion. I've done that to a Thermaltake TR2 once. I had a few spare Antec cables, and I re-pinned them for the TT. It worked fine.

I wonder who made it. It kinda looks like a solytech to me. It might also be XHY power. Can't say for sure though.

I sure do hope that the makings on the main transformer aren't an indication of...

Yah. That PSU was a half bridge with fast recovery rectifiers on the 12V rail - which doesn't help with efficiency. A 400W 80+ bronze or silver PSU with appropriate heatsinks would be a very nice...

My thoughts are more than an 80mm fan will cool better with a given noise output compared to a 120mm fan (at least if the manufacturer takes advantage of the extra height and uses taller heatsinks,...

Your preferred PSU fan arrangement

Just curious here, what do you guys think is the better fan size for a PSU? Personally, I actually prefer front and/or rear mounted 80mm fans over a 120mm or 140mm top fan. What you lose in airflow...

I hope that means Corsair will never go down that path. Well, I don't mind PFC-less units, since we only get charged for actual power here. But, labeling units by the peak wattage should be illegal...
