Yeah, why not just divide voltage delta by wattage delta between points (or the other way round, depending on if you want "more is better" or "less is better")? Sounds like you'd get pretty fair...

Those Xeons can/could be had recently for some sweet, sweet prices second-hand.

Supposedly Facebook was upgrading their servers and flooded the market with those.

No, I'm referring to questionable secondary capacitors in the unit that stayed fanless for quite some time.

And internal capacitors. IIRC, Corsair updated RM series to have better secondary caps, but you had to look at S/N to be sure. With RMx/i you know what you're getting, so it was needed move as well.

First RMs beg to differ. Though how much of it is just "erring on the side of caution" remains to be seen.

Whole discussion about 5% difference being in ATX spec or not is a bit moot, since this PSU exited ATX spec at CL +12V anyway.

If it's not a mission critical cap (like secondary/standby filtering one) and doesn't take much heat, it might very welll last longer than that.

Technically, they could say they're "Haswell compatible" as long as they don't directly say "C6/C7 states compatible". After all those can power a Haswell machine, right? :D

Given that +12V capacity is close to total capacity, OCP for +12V rail isn't all that needed.

Don't do this.

Quality of those adapters varies. Sometimes pins can and do burn on those. And 560Ti is not exactly a power efficient card, so the risk goes up.

You have a simple test of Antec...

Actually, that would be if you compared two zeros. If you compare zero to positive non-zero, non-zero is undefined times more.

I don't see a problem with comparing with units +/- 50W apart. It's not like if you are in market for 800W, 850W or 750W won't do.

If it's group regulated, it better be cheap (and with power efficiency going up, low end 600W PSUs become questionable anyway). In PL these probably will be irrelevant either way, as SilentiumPC has...

Most of it probably isn't even early adopter's tax, just shops reacting to supply shortages in face of high demand.

It was the same with HD4770, when 40 nm was brand new process.

Crap PSUs generally just solder fan wires to +12V/ground and call it a day. Hilariously, since such PSUs generally have trouble keeping voltages in spec, it may lead to fan RPM being lower at higher...

Bolded is key. If they are not electrically compatible, they should not be physically compatible. Plugging them incorrectly may not just "work incorrectly", but even damage connected hardware.
