Then depending on country, you may not have retailer warranty, but you should have Seasonic's warranty, as long as terms were not violated (e.g., waranty sticker removed). These are two separate...

Not like you can make money from GPU Bitcoin mining in the first place, unless someone else is paying for electricity, so anyone selling ATX PSUs as for Bitcoin mining, should raise eyebrows from the...

It's an older group regulated design, so it doesn't handle unbalanced loads that well or support deep sleep states present in modern PCs. By today standards it's an entry-level PSU, so even after...

It's not *rated* at 225W or 300W, it's that people have tried to pull such currents through 8-pin connectors and found it either works or not, doesn't matter if single PCI-E or daisy-chained, KCL...

None of the above means actual connectors in ATX PSUs will hold up to such currents.

PCI-E 8-pin is rated up to 150W, anything else is a bonus. That there is a talk about such "bonus" is not a...

It doesn't magically become capable of 300W and this is why daisy-chained PCI-E connectors are not good. KCL is still a thing.

This is more reasonable from what I can tell. Most 8-pin...

LOL.

Those PSUs don't even support video cards with single 6-pin connector. And you're lucky to have a spare SATA connector.

Upgrade options in those PCs are extremely limited at best.

Sure about that?

From what I saw so far, PSUs like that have VERY limited connectivity options. Or did you get lucky and have one with exceptional number of connectors?

And since these tend to...

SAMA does.

Lower end SilentiumPC offerings (Vero) use them.

I think Modecom (another Polish brand) does too.

There are probably other less known brands that use them.

And power draw of components in the same price segment hasn't really gone up in years. For example, you can run i5 Coffee Lake and 1060 6GB on a good 300W PSU.
