Just a word of advice, always hold off on major updates for at least a week to see what the outcome of it is. I learned this the hard way in the past with XP SP2 and it's many day 1 bugs.

It depends on the manufacturer but, more often than not, you're gonna hit that rated current at the startup. After that you'll be a bit lower at top speed.
