I wonder who made it. It kinda looks like a solytech to me. It might also be XHY power. Can't say for sure though.

I sure do hope that the makings on the main transformer aren't an indication of...

Yah. That PSU was a half bridge with fast recovery rectifiers on the 12V rail - which doesn't help with efficiency. A 400W 80+ bronze or silver PSU with appropriate heatsinks would be a very nice...

They have the switch here too, but HP cover it with a sticker to stop ID10T end users from blowing the PSU up by flipping it to 110

I ran a little experiment with a Thermal Master TM-420-PMSR PSU (which comes with a 120mm fan). I loaded it up to 300W on the tester, with a thermistor from my Aerocool X-vision in each of the two...

Is it just me, or is there something contradictory about a snow flake on one side of the PSU and a BBQ grill on the other? :D

My thoughts are more than an 80mm fan will cool better with a given noise output compared to a 120mm fan (at least if the manufacturer takes advantage of the extra height and uses taller heatsinks,...

Your preferred PSU fan arrangement

Just curious here, what do you guys think is the better fan size for a PSU? Personally, I actually prefer front and/or rear mounted 80mm fans over a 120mm or 140mm top fan. What you lose in airflow...

Agreed. I don't think it's much of a problem at all. Certainly no worse than including more SATA connectors than some users might need.

As for the 93C exhaust, I don't really care if the PSU...

I hope that means Corsair will never go down that path. Well, I don't mind PFC-less units, since we only get charged for actual power here. But, labeling units by the peak wattage should be illegal...

I wouldn't be suprised if the two issues are related. If the unit has had a bashing in shipping, then the fan's bearings might be damaged too.
