Performance not earth-shattering, but functionality is excellent. I want to see some of those in PL. |
They are available in PL, and this model (750W) costs 550-600zł (for comparison, AX750 costs 600-650zł). It seems like a decent deal.
//edit: just noticed that Strider Gold 850W can be bought for <600zł too ;) And AX850 is over 700zł... |
Are you sure this isn't non-Evolution Strider Gold? Descriptions say nothing about air filter or those caps. Because I've done pretty big overhaul of recommendations, and if it were Evo...
|
Well... nevermind then :P Yeah, those were regular Strider Gold, not Evolution.
Just out of curiosity: are there significant internal changes between Strider Gold and Evolution? |
Haven't seen the Strider Gold, so I can't say for sure.

When Cmaris did his review at TheLab.gr we didn't get to see a dissection of the 12v parts on the secondary side but he primary is the same between the two units. When I spoke with Silverstone before these launched, they told me it was the same design internally, with a few changes made (cables, fan, & fan grill) to make the product a more distinct offering from Silverstone. |
The basic topography of strider gold evo is changed to clamp active forword, I heard. It becomes ZCS for main switches.
|
The primary side topology has changed from two-transistor forward to two-transistor active-clamp forward which achieves ZVS of primary switches. The control mode of synchronous rectifiers has been changed accordingly.
|
Looks like a decent option again from Silverstone and Enhance. Maybe it's not the best overall, but the price, full modularity and package make this a great option. I'm like these PSUs more and more.
