SS DA750 quad rails or single rail actually?
been reading from this site


*Update: SilverStone tells me that the pontimeter on the left adjusts / fine tunes the +12v voltage to optimize overclocking and system stability. The on/off switch on the right splits the +12v rail from a single rail to quad +12v rails. Although this obviously voids the warranty, it gives overclockers and computer enthusiasts a chance to tweak this power supply.
is it quad or single rail actually??:confused:

Theres potentially 2 12V power sources since its dual transformer design, afaik usually they just parallel them up to ensure even loading (so single 12V power source). They could also be split into 4 rails with current limiters, though seems a bit pointless considering its a single 12V rail label. JonnyGURU might know for sure ;)

SnooP is right. All "split rails" are is diverting a single, or in this case dual, +12V source and sending it to a PCB that splits and limits the over current protection.

So most of the time when you have a PSU with "two" to "five" +12V rails, there's actually only one or two.

one question, so if they split the OCP to several rails, are they combined to one big power or splitted to those 4 rails?

They don't split the OCP.

They split the rail up into multiple rails and then OCP each rail.

so it also means that one big amps (or two in this case) was splitted to 4 different rails..right?
so what the advantages by doing this??
why they don't leave it as one big single rail?

Separate rails makes the PSU "safer" because a short won't pull more than 20A which could electricute someone or cause a fire.

Also, the direction of current, ripple, noise, etc. is limited to between the OCP circuit and the connectors, so noise is isolated between one rail and another.
