Remember that Stefan is in Europe. The continent is so saturated with local "reasonably priced" cars that you don't see many of the mainstream Japanese cars we see in the U.S.

The same is true in China. You have a bunch of Chinese brands and Volkswagens (which all of the Taxis are) and then all the high end stuff is Lexus, Infiniti, Acura... and even Buick.

Buick in China is kind of like Chevy in other countries. We have cars cheaper than Cruze and Trax sold under Buick badge. It's not a premium brand on par with Lexus/Infi, but a mainstream brand on par with VW/Toyota.

All the taxis in Shenzhen are electric BYDs nowadays. :) I've ridden in them several times and they're quite nice.

I don't know what part of Shenzhen you're in, but no where near anywhere I've ever been. They're still driving VW Santana's where I'm at.
