Anyone reviewing and testing cheap PC PSU's?

After spending a few hours googling I found a lot of reviews of higher end PC PSU's but very few of the cheaper end of the market.

I know everyone says, don't buy cheap, but I'd like to see some load tests and tear downs of the real budget end PSU's.

I did find a review of a Kolink PSU which was quite good, but it was for a 1200w unit... Hardly a common purchase?

What about PSU's in the 500-800w range? Surely these are what most people actually buy (or need).

Given the huge variation in price for a 750w (19 to 175) psu these days, I had assumed there would be loads of 750w shootouts?

The golden rule is just make sure you buy a certified PSU of a well known brand, or that's what they say...

I have a bulk off very cheap PSUs i wanted to review. Around 20, but i always delay it, because it is just a pain ;)

i have lots of intertech, mstech, aerocool, lc power, tacens, kolink, xilence, chieftec.
all in the area below 30 €

to cut it short.

xilence and kolink i find quite ok. chieftec also is usable.

All others are just crap and most of them do not survive the testing, have wrong specs or simply a really bad efficiency.

If you search 500 watt and more i would say the cheapest ones that are usefull and i know are:

Xilence Performance A+ Serie 530W ATX 2.4 (XP530R8/XN061)
Cooler Master B500 ver.2 500W ATX 2.3 (RS-500-ACAB-B1) (noch MasterWatt lite)
Corsair VS Series VS550 (Rev. 2.0) 550W ATX 2.31 (CP-9020097-EU/CP-9020097-UK)
XFX XT500 500W ATX 2.31 (P1-500B-XTFR)

Thanks for that. Kolink might be worth a try...

Ever looked inside an Artic PSU?(not arctic). Sold here in the UK, no idea who the manufacturer is.

I imagine it would be good for a laugh!
