Cooler Master Masterwatt Maker 1200W MIJ

Well, now. THIS should be interesting.

Couldn't hit the NDA because I am out of time and started working on something new, besides reviews. But I will soon put this on the load testers.

Thanks for the review Wolf!

For me value would rather be 1/10 to be honest. It's simply not worth 1000 USD, probably not even 500.

The thing is this is the first thing that isn't made in China (or Taiwan) in a long time...

And you also may want to call it a fair unit...

...I'm tossing a full point over it. Half a point goes off for the documentation. Another half point for the Berg connector. Finally, one more half point comes off for lack of accessories. That'll leave us with a...

-If the beautiful build quality does not add up to improved performance, it does not.

-If you're not going to open the PSU (break your 10yr warranty) to admire the build quality, I'm not.

-If Cooler Master had provided transparent panels to view the build quality, they did not.

So to me, value is 2 of 10.

Extremely Happy Seasonic 850w Prime Titanium owner (with 12year warranty).

I suspect that this one's going to be either a 10 or a 1 for value depending who you are and what you want. I know people who will gladly pay this price to get something not made in China.

This is actually not too bad for a custom Murata. They have a 380VDC 5kW monster that runs north of $3k.

I'm actually wondering why nobody produces PSU in Europe or Mexico. Minimum wage is so damn low in some countries, so labor cost would be same or even lower than in mainland China. I guess we really lack the knowledge nowadays in Europe and America to actually build PC hardware.

Unreal build quality  . Looks like the PSU that will power the mission computer onboard the first manned spacecraft to Mars, or so.
