HELP REQUEST: Upgrade To Play Battlefield 4 ??

Hello fellows,

As you are aware BF4 is coming out in November 2013. The only video game I play is BF3, so I will upgrade in October.

I built my current box myself in August 2011. Here are the key components I have got in it:

- Mobo ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z Z68
- EVGA GTX 570 2.5G
- PSU KingWin Lazer Gold 850 Watts
- SSD 256GB Crucial M4
- RAM 4Gx4 GSKIL F3-17000CL11Q-16GBXL
- Intel Core I7 2600K 3.4G 8M
- Case Lian LI - PCZ70B RTL

I want to be able to run BF4 at Maximum settings!

What do I have to upgrade with my current box to be able to achieve that goal??

Thank you,

CG

You never mentioned what resolution you play at. Besides, how are we to know the final hardware requirements of a newly developed, and not yet fully tested game engine? But, if your PC comes up short in the FPS department, you should look at upgrading your GPU. The rest is just fine, and the PSU is overkill.

I'd start with overclocking your current CPU and GPU. If after OC the performance is still not satisfactory, then I'd consider upgrading the GPU.

^Above advice is solid. The only upgrade you should consider (one that would actually impact performance) is a new VGA, but for that you should wait till September/October, when AMD breaks out the HD 8000 Sea Islands chips, and see exactly how things stand on the performance front.

Overclocking a reference 570 is asking for fireworks. You'll need a new GPU to max out at 1080p. Wait for the game to come or before you buy anything.

IIRC he has the Classified, which is an excellent card. :)

If it's a non reference then overclock away!
Still won't max out 1080p though.
