For all you s939 users out there, you might want to upgrade when you see this deal from Tigerdirect:

MachSpeed MSNV-939 NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard (sell the thing)
AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 2.60GHz OEM

TOTAL: $300 after rebate.

Mine is on its way, it shipped out yesterday :D

IMO, this is the deal of the year so far.

Wow! That's weird.

Even w/o the rebate, the bundle is cheaper than the price of the CPU alone.

I have a tracking number from Tigerdirect and some members of RedFlagDeals have received theirs. The only problem is that these processors have taken a serious dive on Ebay so forget about flipping them for much of a profit.

Either use it or don't buy it IMO.... ;)

are mach speed motherboards any good? they seem to be TD's house brand.

tthey are still selling for well over $300 on ebay.of course after all the fees you may not make much. I sold a cpu on ebay for $100 over what I paid; after all the damn fees, I only made $45, which still isnt bad. but damn, lost almost 50% of profit just in stupid fees.

LOL!

It's not Tiger's house brand, but TD sure does pimp them a lot. I should tell the guys I know that work there you said that. ;)

They're a weird re-brand. Some stuff is Biostar. Some stuff is Foxconn. Unfortunately, some stuff is ECS. I think they just buy other factory's overstock and relabel it.

It's still a 2.6 GHz AMD64.

Paying $300 for it I dunno.

Compare that with the FX-7x prices and you see it is a pure ripoff for those stuck on 939.

just like lawyers, the only people who win are ebay.

If I was in govt., I would tax companies like microsoft, apple and ebay to the tune of billions each year, and if they jump ship, ban them from selling in the country.

I still think a opty 165 is a better buy @ $150. It'll run at 2.8ghz (on air) without any real effort. Of course if the $300 included a quality motherboard it would be a different story. Then again with memory prices dropping it probably make sense to go with a e6300 or similar. The e6300 at stock speed is (for gaming) about the same perf as the opty 165 @ 2.8ghz and the e6300 with trivial effort overclock 50% on a $125 mb (gigabyte or biostar p965 mb) (I'm using the p5b-e but as a server so no overclocking - but my game system is an opty 165). (yea yea somehow the two systems ended up switched but it had to do with when they were built and what gave the most bang for the $$ at the time of purchase - and yes unix runs fine on the p5b-e).

So you're being punished for being rich..

Just like in europe!!

interesting tidbit of the day: the IKEA family pays 80% of it's income in taxes.

That's Europe, and Democrats, for you.
