I think the internal and external models are the same.
Almost the same. Of course, the internal model has the mounting bits, that thing in the end that sticks out, the passthrough cable.. etc etc. But internally, I'd think they're the same.

I think I would go with the one you have so I could at least see the LCD and also have it in a cooler enviroment to boot:D

Snap one up while you can. SevenTeam says they're not going to make anything like that again. They lost money on that venture. :(

Yeah.. Funny market. Because it wasn't marketed as a 1kW, nobody bought them.
Vortec: Those are Youngyear built units. I'd pass. ;)

Systemscooling or Xbitlabs reviewed one of those. IIRC, regulation and ripple were not the best but the most off-putting thing was there was no TIM between the heat pipe unit and the sinks. I did bring this to jon's attention at the time, I hope he remembers ;)
Zalman has a FSP built heat piped unit out now.

Yep. But the one's I've seen since that review have all had TIM. So I don't know what the deal was with the sample Oleg got. Just look at the review I did of the external unit. There's TIM on the sinks. Same sinks as the internal model. Also, regulation and ripple was perfectly fine with mine.

I'm not sure I recollect that one. :)
The only one I've really dissed starts with an M and ends with an N. lol
If you fit a cannon and some traction to the Seventeam, you can really ride around in your own personal tank! Why did they stop making those units?

I do not visit [H], just don't have the time for so many forums.
As for your second paragraph....:)

I don't like how the used one has NO DETAILS at all. Like... Does it work??? lol

true, but the seller does have a 100% positive feedback rating and would probably be willing to answer a question or two about the psu. in fact, I just sent him the following:
there aren't a lot of details in your auction. is the psu functioning and does it come will all of it's cables?
I understand the risk involved in buying used merchandise, but the bidding is likely to get quite high as these psu's are getting very hard to find. Do you offer any kind of non-DOA warranty?
I'll post the reply, if I get one.

received a reply.
There's not much to put on the details that's not in the product page and it does have all it's cables. I will double check to be sure for you. I tested the PSU with a PSU tester and it works fine. The reason I'm selling it is that it was not right for my case. The PSU was located on the bottom of my case and this PSU is better if it is situated on top like normal cases with the case exhaust fan blowing out most of the air. As far as a warranty, the best I can do is take the PSU back and refund the money.

Wow! I'm half tempted simply because I know it's a badass unit. As you know, I've got the external model powering my main rig now.

with just under 5 hours to go, I'm still the high bidder. I don't expect to win because my max bid is $70. if I do win, at least I'll not have to worry about a PSU for my next build.

Hmmm, 10 available.........that's quite a few with *buy it now* for $129.
Feedback is a bit scary, 6 negatives the past month and this listed on the psu auction "All sales final and no refunds/exchanges"

it sold for $71 (the used one). The winning bidder and I were the only ones who'd shown an interest.
