I was over at FrozenCPU checking out the aux 5.25 bay PSU's and
came accross this, is it for a Peltier or am I sadly mistaken? :confused:

TEC's are more forgiving when it comes to ripple. In fact problems arise only in precision applications (for stuff I do), where temperature control is more important than just freezing stuff. As long as a PSU can supply it with DC current without blowing up, it should be o.k. So, for a beer cooler type appz, it doesn't really matter what kind of PSU you use, as long as it can effectively drive the TEC. If you are trying to obtain 0.01 C precesion control, that's a different matter.
My point is, there is nothing exceptional about the Meanwell, simply because the demands of the system it is driving are minimal at best.

Becouse it works in tandem with the main PSU?

I have no idea what point SN is trying to make. :wall:
If your TEC's need 400W to 600W of +24V, then this is an excellent choice to power them. ;)

The point I'm trying to make is, as long as a unit can supply the necessary current without blowing up, it can be used in a TEC based application. All I'm saying is, TEC cooling is not a mission critical application which demands high quality power as opposed to quantity. :)
So, there are other options apart from the Meanwell, (which I admit, is a very well packaged solution geared to a specific need.)

Any links to such options :p. Particularly ones with a more adjustable voltage? 10% is ok but at 12v that only leaves 10.5-13.5
