Well, I know this topic will look like dejavu from similar one I posted in PSU section, but I also found that my shiny new GTX 8800 is responsible for [part] of the buzzing (after checking my rig further and swapping my old antec tp550 psu, which turned out to be more quiet than buzzing seasonic).

Anyway, I found other people with similar problems. I'm curious though, if any of you having those cards have them too.

Threads of interest:

8800GTX Electronic Buzzing Noise (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1140549) (particulary this is worrying: #26 (http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1030462406&postcount=26) )
Techreport thread (http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=652540)

Also is it safe to follow the suggestions presented in some of the replies (if RMA doesn't help in any way) ? - using loctite or acrylic ...

The sound generated by gpu can be found in the first thread, in mp3 (http://www.nakijken.nl/marvin/noise.mp3) file.

EDIT:

Some guy also found the offending element in this (http://www.evga.com/community/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21294) thread.

Oh well :(

is it really noitceable? Like from where you are sitting or if you are up close? I didnt noticed any buzzing on a few that I tried, although the last two had this beep noise when u turn it off.

Not me.

I've used four 8800GTX's. Two builds, each with SLI. All four were EVGA. No buzz.

I can hear it through closed case with 4 (inc. cpu) low rpm fans. As noted in those threads, it doesn't exist during normal work, but as soon as something like Oblivion, HDR demo or even that small animation from ati tool is started, the buzz is quite clear and audible (particulary in high fps situations).

I don't have any turn-off beeps though.

Just to be sure - if you fire up this (http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/) little demo, there's no buzz of any sort either ? (I assume you don't have few 2500 rpm 120mm fans :) )

so many months later from your post and I recently bought OCZ8800gtx and corsair 620hx

both buzz on graphic load & gaming.. what da heck is going on??

seasonic s12-500 with 8800gtx setup has just the card buzzing.

I have the same buzzing issues.

MSI 8800GTS 320mb OC edition

I find it distracting, you can't avoid noticing it, it changes pitch everytime.

Soltys is correct, it happens only in demanding situations, for me -> Oblivion, CoH, Atitool artifact scans/cube view, any 3d high rendering screensavers . .. and so forth.

I will ask for RMA possibility but once I finish Oblivion.
