I have the sapphire x1950 pro agp card which has to molex plugs. I just bought (which I posted previously) the gameXstream 700w psu... which to my understanding has 1 rail to the cpu, 2 rails to pci-e connectors, and 1 rail to all the rest.

I want to put the card on it's own rail but it isn't pci-e so I wanted to ask... is there y a connector that takes one pci-e connector on one end and adapts it to two molex connectors on the other? And if so...

where to get?
Is there any problems with that?

Thanks so much!!!

I don't believe there is. A quick Google search shows nothing, but I'm sure you tried that first. I imagine you could make one from a pci-e extension, though. _ReeL

*edit* there doesn't seem to be any of them on the market either.

As molex also has 5V lead in it which the PCI-E connector doesn't have, I'm very doubtful that there would be a adapter for this. Though you can try to make one yourself, AFAIK the X1950Pro AGP doesn't use the 5V rail from the molex.

Thanks for taking the time... I did find one guy who was trying to do this for a hard drive, and of course was told that he'd probably fry the drive since the pci-e doesn't have a 5v.

So this seems to be the million dollar question. Do they use the 5 volt line or not, huh? Ugh... I might have to post on their forums, which so far hasn't been enjoyable. :wall:

Can anyone recommend a company that makes custom cables?

They do make a PCI-E to Molex adapter but it only converts it one to one...

PCI Express to Molex Adapter Cable - Sleeved:

It's incredibly expensive though...

I'm thinking to just use some Molex's from an old PSU and make my own... I'll probably just insert the pins into the PCI-E connector individually as I can't find the female (male..?) connectors anywhere...

I'm planning to make up two individual "single PCI-E to single Molex" adapters to work with this "Booster" PSU and the Sapphire X1950PRO 512MB AGP in my sig...

Any other ideas from anyone about connectors, this "Booster", etc..?
