Never heard of it. Kind of skeptical, even though it is supposedly a Taiwanese capacitor company. No website that I can find either.

A search on alibaba leads to here, a hong kong based company with an excellent website:

Yeah, I saw that too, but they're just a distributor.

Does this mean we are victims of a KingKongCon?

So many groaners in one thread... This can't end well.

I found a Kingcon Telecom Co (http://www.companycoltd.com/company_coltd.php?company_id=u353327) in Dubai U.A.E. and a King-Con in Canada, but they are a construction company. So Kingcon, the cap maker is most likely just an OEM supplier, and likely a subsidiary of a bigger conglomerate, and therefore does not have its own web presence.
Why are you skeptical? Just for the lack of company information? Is it bad? What's it out of?
At least it looks nice! ;)
This (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Return+of+King+Con!-a061164503) was interesting, The Return of King Con
He was last jailed for smuggling arms-sensitive computer components behind the Iron Curtain.

Yeah. Skeptical of the lack of info.
See... for this project, I wanted Japanese capacitors, but the Japanese factories aren't up to capacity yet so they're projecting lead times of four months. So I said Teapo was ok. The purchasing department found out that Teapo was also behind because everyone has shifted production to them due to the situation in Japan. It's not as bad as four months, but it's still not as good as four weeks! So they switched the capacitors from Teapo to Kingcon without telling anyone, thinking "at least they're Taiwanese, right?" I didn't find out until the caps had already arrived.
But yeah... they look cool with the chrome letters on the black paper. If aesthetics made a cap, these would be top notch. ;)

What about the Korean companies, like Samyoung?

I think Chinese manufacturers don't like to use Korean capacitors so much because they can't speak Korean. They can't communicate well with the manufacturer. That's why most use Chinese or Taiwanese.
Anyhoo... when purchasing saw that the 洋鬼子 was upset, they were suddenly able to obtain Teapo capacitors within a matter of hours.
They try to be so damn slick. You've got to ride them like a freakin' donkey.

4 months? Wow! That's a long time. I thought recovery had moved along better than that. I note Toyota claimed a couple months ago production was back to pre-quake levels. They may still be out-sourcing and of course, they have the clout and resources to demand and ensure compliance to their specs, but it still makes you wonder.

That's good news. But that still means long lead times for a while because now they have to play catch up. ;)

But that still means long lead times for a while because now they have to play catch up.And not just them - all the distribution channels too. And some distributors may have found alternate suppliers they are happy with too.

Well... for capacitors, suppliers tend to have JIT (just in time) inventory only because of the relatively short shelf life of unused capacitors.

Good point, though I think that is more at the end-user point (motherboard maker, for example) than distributors, but it still applies.
