Hi all!
First of all, sorry for my bad english!

I recently bought an Intel Core i5 2500K, a Radeon HD6970 and an Asus P8P67-M PRO motherboard. Can I run this PC (it has also 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1TB Caviar Black HDD) with an LC6600 Power Supply, 600W? I know it's a very cheap Power Supply and probably it doesn't have 600W for real, it's not even 80+ Bronze Certified and the PFC is passive, but for this month I won't have the money for a very good Power Supply (I was thinking at the OCZ ZX 1000W that you reviewed, it convinced me and I think I will use it for veeeery long time), so I am worried if this LC6600 could do the job well for now.
What do you think?

There is more then one LC6600, the model number is longer then this.

Do you already have the PSU?

(PS: I won't do overclock)

Ugh! With all of the review sites out there now doing proper power supply reviews, not just this one, why on Earth would anyone buy that hunk of crap?

Great Wall makes some good units and some bad units. The Great Wall platform used for that LC Power is NOT one of their good units. In fact, despite the fact that LC claims that 600W is a peak rating (yes, even LC admits it's not really a 600W), I seriously doubt it can do 500W continuous.

Thank you for the reply!
Well, I know it is a bad power supply, but I can't afford a good one right now, and I would like to use this hardware as soon as possible... it will take me maybe a 3 weeks to buy a very good one, and I was wondering if until then I could use this one with no fear :(

Well... fortunately, that unit has proper protection so it's worth a shot. But make sure it's properly cooled because it's not only rated at peak, it's rated at only 25°C.

Well, I don't even have a case for now, so all the hardware is on a desk XD 26°C here in Italy... it's cooler without a case, right?

Umm... yeah. Usually a PSU gets hot just from being located either on top of the CPU or below the GPU and sucking in it's hot air. So if you're running open air, you should be fine.

Thanks very much, jonny! I'll try maybe to not play Batlefield 3 beta until the new PSU ^^"
