I know this probably will make me sound like an idiot, but I have read so much completely contradictory information on this subject that I just don't know what to believe!
I have the sapphire x1950 pro agp card and had a FSP A-x800 psu. I just put an order in for an ocz gamexstream 700w psu. It has quad 12v rails each with 18 amps. Now on the sapphire forum they all recommend the enermax liberty 620w. A lot of the members claim that quad rails are good for xfire and sli setups but will have problems with a single card. I guess my question is do you think I will have problems with this setup? Did I make a bad decision?
TIA for your responses... and sorry for the blatant newbie question.

exhales... great to hear! I just wanted to say it's so nice posting on a forum where there aren't any condescending replies of "try google" or whatever. But I knew it had to be good people because the wolf frequents here... you and larva on the ocforums actually helped me with my last psu purchase!
CAD4466HK I've had it overclocked to 3.5 ghz and that's as far as it would go!:) When the prices come down a bit I'm going to rebuild the whole system with a dual core and such (sans hard drive, sound card,nic)... and it seems like at least this psu will work towards that end (I read JonnyGURU gave it a good review), right?
Thanks again and take care guys!

Northwood. It's solid where it is now but when I try to move up I start getting errors.
Is it true those libertys explode?

I think I remember that... all the different threads tend to blur together after a while ;)

When pressed, they seem too. I have seen three posted over at AnandTech.
They make a noise at cold boot called coil ignition, this is the aPFC coil.
It has nothing to do with the blow-ups.
They really don't explode but die with a pop & spark.. or so I'm told. :p

Yeah the Northwoods have a sweet spot where they like to operate, just got to find it;)

Ok can I resuscitate this thread for a moment and to ask one detail about the gameXstream 700w? Am I right to say that even though it has four rails that 2 go to pci-e one to the cpu and the final is left to power all other devices?
So since the x1950agp has two 4 pin molex connectors that I would have the card on the same rail as all my components? At sapphiretech forums they say (if I understand them right) that you should have 20 or so amps for the card... and at looking at another post with Jonny he was a little skeptical of that assertion... But any rate with that being said, is my prognosis the same? Sorry to repost. They just got me worried at the other forum as they all seem very sure as that you need 20 amps and my knowledge in the area (obviously) is pretty anemic. Any insight or personal experience would be great!
