Precautions of hardware storeroom

Hi,

what are the safety precautions of hardware storeroom where electronic and electrical components are stored? Please note that it is referred to physical safety for people or ESD and corrosion protection for parts.

ESD is easy. Ground all the equipment racks, use safety matting, and train your personnel about proper ESD precautions.

As for corrosion, from what? Chemicals? Sea air? Protection from corrosion in some environments can be a real challenge, but keeping everything clean and dry is essential, as is separation from fumes and spills.

So long as the air is comfortable for people, and reasonably dry, it will be fine. Grounding the racks and work areas will help prevent ESD.
