In web cruising discovered that the oem 70mm fan on AMD Heatpipe coolers is indeed a limitation on them.
People have been replacing the 70mm fans with 92 mm fans for 5-10 degree temperature reduction. Traditional.
My using a 120mm Nexus is just a variation going back many years.
The 92mm fan of choice seems to be the Arctic Cooling FM2 pwm fan.
Great minds ir some approximation there of..

I don't quite understand the question, but if you're looking for 92mm fan suggestions here you go:
1. Coolink SWiF2-92P -> quiet @ ~650 RPM, and very efficient at 1600 RPM and up..
2. NoiseBlocker BlackSilent XE2 -> higher efficiency than the above Coolink at similar RPMs but also noisier
3. Noctua NF-B9 -> high quality fan, good balance between noise and efficiency.

There was a previous thread where I asked if replacing the fan on a oem heatsink would improve performance. There were some very determined discussion involved, regarding elements involved.
I glued an 80mm to 120 mm adapter to the heatsink and use a 120mm fan, which works fine.
Just an update and an alternative to aftermarket coolers when a few degrees or more airflow over the motherboard will help.
I appreciate the fan recommendations, basically unless height is an issue expensive fans are not justified (better than stock coolers being a better choice).
The AC 92mm pwm can be found for about $7, I haven't used it yet.
I may continue to use the adapters since I have a selection of 120mm fans.
It is amusing that I could find nothing searching for this and stumble across it now.
Thanks for the reply.
