So my mom's PSU has been acting up lately{Codegen 300w:o }
I planned on getting a Good Power 500w for moms, but I came across the
Stable Power 500w for about $15 more, claiming 80+efficiency and 2 18a +12v rails. I can't seem to locate a UL#, and Xclio's site dosen't give the combined +12v amps{notice how the 460w has the specs of the 850w and the 1kw 2x35A rails:p }
I might decide to get it and use my mother as a test subject once again:p
Any thoughts? Or should I just go with the Good Power?
Mom's specs:
ECS K7S5A Pro
1700+ AXP
2x256 KVR PC2100
eVGA 5700LE
1xSeagate 80gb
1xWD 10gb
MSI Burner
floppy
2x80mm

It's probably still Channel Well. I haven't heard the complaints for the caps on these like I have on the units they made for Antec, so it's probably a safe bet.
But... the K7S5A is a 5v based motherboard. It would be better to pick an older ATX 1.3 unit for it.

I had thought about that, and I'm ready to switch out that mobo for a
MSI KT880 Delta I got laying around, that way I can upgrade her to a Barton
at least, and get away from that 5v ECS mobo;)

Yeah, that ECS board is notorious for the awful G-Luxon caps going bad and nuking the whole VRM section. I have one I got free waiting to be recapped - the caps are still good, but it doesn't get used until the job is done. I don't want to have to replace the MOSFETs.

lol - I'm actually more interested in severe weather itself than the plot of that movie, but I do watch it once a year or so. Mostly to see if I can poke new holes in the plot.

That movie had everybody and their grandmother out buying Dodge Rams:p

Not me, I was still bombing around in a 1979 Lincoln Continental when that came out. Might as well have been a Ram though... it guzzled enough gas getting to the theater that day :D

At that time I had a 81' 280ZX 2+2:p

I think it's an Enhance based unit, probably a rebadged 5150G, judging by the identical output specs. Not a bad unit, although for a modern gaming system I would go for Enhance's 5150GH at the same price.
As OK Wolf said, though, it's not ideal for your system.

5150G has 5V @ 30A and is NOT 80Plus certed, the 5150GH has 5V @ 20A and is 80Plus certed.
EDITED for 80Plus mistake.

It's the GH that's 80 Plus certified, not the G.
