Have just built and used a Corsair HX 650. Now I have used up all of the Gigabyte mobo fan power points and I want to connect two more 120 Nexus Silents to the side.
Now I can get an adaptor from the SATA to Molex then via a splitter to the fans, but I cannot find out from anywhere if the one SATA outlet will cope with the fans 0.8A max current draw from it's socket.
Corsair tell me to use that very long SATA to Molex cable for my purpose but I dont want have this cable just untidying the case and for safety reasons.
Can someone tell me how I find out what the SATA outlets put out as I am not that savvy and cannot work out from the manual what I want to know. But as the cables that came with the PSU have multiple connectors for hard drives on them I am assuming that there will be sufficient power for the two fans of one point.
Have been at this all day and almost at the point of trying it even if it does burn the PSU out. I know this a dumb query but now at a loss as to what to do.:(
