I'm hoping to get some advice on if a psu upgrade is needed? Here is my current system setup
C2D E6600@3.72
2 gig ddr2
6800gt@ ultra speeds
Gigabyte Ga-965p-ds3 mobo
5 hd's total 2 setup in raid 0
X-fi extreme music
1 optical drive
6 120mm fans
1 cm stacker crossflow fan
3 80mm fans
Aquaextreme 50z water pump
2 12" cathode lights
current psu is an original OCZ powerstream 600 28a on 3.3v rail, 46a on 5v rail
20a on 12v rail 1, and 18a on 12v rail2

I am planning to upgrade my vid card to a newer high end dx10 card gtx or
R600? Im afraid I could be really stressing the limits on my current psu? I don't have reboot problems playing games or stressing everything at one. I do think there might be a little struggle on booting with higher oc's as the mobo sometimes reset itselt. I can run the system all day @3.72 stressing cpu and vid card 12hrs plus but it sometimes resets its self in bios at bootup.
Thanks

I decided to pull out my multimeter to test my 12v rail from a molex. I am surprised to find the rail hardly moved. I tested at bootup and loaded with TAT test for cpu's and rthdribl for vid card at the same time in windows. I got 12.28-12.30 as the most varience in the 12v rail. The 5 volt rail didn't even move. If I have any problems it must be from the mobo? Im still curious if my psu could handle adding one of those new power hungry gpu's?

I'd give it a try with your current PSU first, and then decide if you want to upgrade :)
