Uli got bought by Nvidia about a year ago.

I only seen Via and Sis in supper cheap (< $50) mother boards lately for AM2 and almost non in newer (C2D) Intel mother boards.

Via and Sis will probably will leave main PC market. Via will probably will be only seen in ITX market and maybe mobile products.

Sis I am not so sure about, either they get bought by some one else, go the way of the Dodo bird, or move to a different market like Via (it is all speculations for now, time will tell).

Via probably has a long life ahead of it, but nVidia wants SiS dead after Intel pulled that Stint with C2Q. ULi is nVidia now. ATi is now going to become a much bigger player in the Chipset world thanks to AMD.

There are many new Intel-compatable boards (and more coming out everyday) that have VIA chipsets, and SiS will be making the new chipsets on Intel's upcoming entry level motherboard - to replace the D101GGC and D102GGC2. It will be the D201GLY "Little Valley"

Intel's not too fond of using an ATI chipset now that their rival AMD owns them.
