Persuading the manufacturers to send a review sample would probably work too :P

Paul Johnson (Spectre) has already reviewed the 700w ModXstream, and found it lacking.
the fsp isn't worth reviewing because it isn't worth buying, not when there are 300w seasonic psu's that can be had for the same price.
the cx430 isn't as good as the psu it replaces, the CX400.
the antec is a decent enough Delta build and the Rosewill is a decent enough aTNG, neither will kill your system, but there are better PSU's available for the price

it's a stone cold guaranteed lock that the Sunmoon will blow up that Pixxo.

as long as you're willing to pay for any potential damage to the SunMoon. Wolf had a bad PSU damage his when it released the magic smoke.
Corsair has already stated they wont be sending out the builder series units for review.

Why not? I think they dont want to show that their new psus are shit.
Quoted from another thread.
we are not sending it out for stand alone reviews at this time. We can participate in roundup for the same price range or head-to-head comparison against same price point product.

I think someone was really really bored and was like "aw man im bored let me fuck with the review sites and mak up random bs so people are less likely to find out how shitty our new rabadged powmax"...
Here... Read this (http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7081) thread.

shovenose, I bet if you had a website, you wouldn't appreciate some new guy coming in and telling you how they think you should run it.

then he wouldn't have to come here in an attempt to sell crap he's allegedly "refurbished" himself.

Hey, why won't he donate some of his refurbs for testing?

This one is old. No APFC, and quite certainly low efficiency.

I doubt that you could get any of us to put one on our testers... Unless someone else is willing to flip the bill when something goes Boom!

Actually, no. Most manufacturers are "alienated" by our testing methodology and won't send us product because they know we'll blow it up and shun them.

Which does say a lot about the product in question, I reckon :)

While I definitely wasn't being serious with my comment, I never realized the manufacturers were down to this level of pathetic. It's amusing, actually.

Haha, they're even worse than that. Eg. Tagan's rep's opinion about some review of their PSU at [H].

With what money? After paying for the Sunbeam, I might make enough off that review to buy one meal at a restaurant up here. I have a four figure yearly income :(

What?!
Dont you make money off advertisements on the site? The more psus you review the more pageviews
McSteel

Yeah, and running the site is free, so it's all pure profit.

Seriously, there have always been ebbs and flows to what people were sending out for review....but lately no one is sending anything it seems. And if they do it is only the absolute top product from their premium line.....if they are even responding to emails anymore.

They do the same in the Video Game business. Even though those reviews are purely opinion based.
Some companies won't send reviewers a game till after it's been on the market for a week or two. Or at all, because previous games from that developer or series have gotten bad reviews.
Which is why you see so many people complaining about game reviews and them being hogwash.

Bandwidth costs money.
Thats really insulting.
So then if you had a few thousand bucks in a test setup, you would have no problem in testing a PSU that someone else took apart, made some sort of repair?
Personally, I would need a little more proof than just a few posts saying "I refurbish PSUs", before I would.
It takes more than just a few bucks a month to run a site like this. I don't know why people seem to think these things happen for free.
