The cpu is a sempron (watered down athlon xp), 2600+. Its stock speed (iirc), is somewhere around 1.83. Right now im running it at 2002mhz, stock voltages. My mobo is a microatx msi ms-7119. It interestingly enough does have heatsinks on the cpu regulators. The ram is generic 512mb pc3200...
How high can i safely go on the cpu voltage?

Im worried about something: i have this motherboard crammed into an old xp case, with a 2000w psu and no case fan. Will it overheat?

Which core is it? Thoroughbred, Thorton, Barton?

I know a Barton can take up to 1.85V safely (given the cooling), but don't know about other cores.

if it's a socket a sempron, it's most likely a Barton. However, since the Sempron was the value replacement for the Duron, I think it had an odd name for the core. At least some of the early Semprons did.

I'm thinking "Applebred", which was the last core designation for the Duron before they were replaced by the Sempron.

then again, I could be thinking "Thorton", which was a combination of thorobred and barton.

there are two different Sempron 2600+'s (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/TYPE-Sempron.html)

none of those cores. yall were wrong :)

interesting results, i thought i had it overclocked to 2002mhz. guess it reset when i put in more ram (it has 256mb)
