Does someone know how efficient is the typical power converter?
I've heard a step-down converter (from 220v to 110v) used on a fridge or washer, rated for 1000W would end up eating too much energy.
Is that true or they are efficient enough for me to buy a 110v appliance without minding too much about the extra comsumption involved?
