I've just found a zero ohm resistor for sale on Ebay! :wall:

How can you have confidence about buying electronic components online when the :fire: sellers know nothing whatsoever about electronics!
Has anyone here had bad experiences re. buying electronic components online?

A resistor with no resistance? o.o

It's called jumper wire. Or a shorted resistor.

Basically they're bridges which can be used by the same component placement robots which place resistors and such. Sometimes it's just more convenient than handling a piece of wire :)

Hmm....
That makes sense. So if you're using a pick and place machine and need a jumper wire, you can have the machine grab this piece instead.
Of course... if you're actually using a pick and place machine, you'd want them on a tape strip to feed into the machine and I don't think 100 is going to be enough.

So it's settled then. Resistance is futile.

Depending on how many you need, yes. I actually don't see that many of them in the average circuit.

That wasn't really my point... if you're using a pick and place machine, you're building more than 100 of something. You're building a few THOUSAND of something.

Yeah, that's true :)

Then you buy a couple dozen lots of these. :)

And pay some guy to stand there and feed the strips into the pick and place machine? That defeats the purpose. A pick and place machine will go through a strip of 100 in about two minutes.
