:( :( well last week i finished my new rig with the following components

Corsair 520w
e6400
DS3
Liteon DVD
WD 250
Centurion 5 case
7950gt KO

everything worked flawlessly, until i RMA'd my 7950gt for a 8800gts
which came in last night, and i installed it and i was like okay cool, and then i proceeded to turn on the whole rig and no lights, no fans, no nothing came up. I was worried but it was late and i waited til today to really trouble shoot, and ive been doing so for about 3-4 hours trying to get my rig up. everything is exactly how it was last week and i was told the 520 from corsair was very good for a g80 set up but now im having doubts. I even jumpstarted my PSU with a paper clip just now to see if it wasnt DOA and the fan turned on to the PSU but then i reconnected it back and to no avail nothing is on. DO you think it is my 8800gts? ITs a very simple system and it should work, please give me some insight and help!

Check to see if the reset button isn't depressed for some reason (sounds stupid but I've had it happen to me) and make sure that you didn't accidentally pull the power button connector loose from the mobo. Try resetting the CMOS as well. Good luck!

depressed as in out or in

and resetting the CMOS, how do you do that, my motherboard has both the battery in the center and the clr_cmos thingy or somthing, and how would i go about doing that if the first option doesnt work?

Turn off the PSU switch and use the jumper. Yes, depressed as in pushed in. I did some work to my workhorse rig and pulled the front loose, when I put it back together it pushed the reset button in and the PC would not power up at all.

Always look at the simplest things first, it seems that when something goes south it's the stupid shit that causes the problem.

If you think it's the G80, then why not just take it out and try to boot up? Sure you won't get any video, but if it is the faulty part, then all the fans, lights, and such should be going.

Another thought is, even though the 520 is rated to handle that, it could always be a psu that goes bad under more stress.

And to reset the cmos:
-power down and turn off your psu (or unplug it).
-then take out the battery.
-change the cmos jumper to the other position (cmos jumper is usually closest jumper to the battery).
-wait a bit. I usually wait a few minutes, and if that doesn't work, then do the process again, and wait longer (sometimes I've had to wait many hours).
-put everything back how it was, and boot. make sure to check your bios settings!

There can be more to reseting the cmos, but that's the quick version.
