125 votes in one hour. Overclock.net should be a fair representative sampling of the enthusiast market, though with a bias toward the high-wattage >1200W units due to there being a higher rate of hardcore enthusiasts and folders, rather than being entirely gamers and mid-range enthusiasts.

The data is interesting. Sub-500W units are very poorly represented; the vast majority are >500W. The graph shows a classical bell curve peaking at 700-799W, though with a sharp drop after that, with 800-899W being lower than 500-599W. 900-999W units are anomalously low; perhaps when one gets past 850W there's little reason to stop at 950W instead of going straight to 1000W+. Or perhaps it's just the relative dearth of 900-999W units compared to 1KW and 850W power supplies.

This data indicates that it would be wise for most enthusiast power supply brands to locate their main product line-ups in the 500-850W range for best sales, as these wattages are by far the most popular among enthusiasts.

900-999W units are anomalously low;

There aren't a lot of 900-999W units on the market. Most companies just put out a 1000W.

Although, just because they call it a 1000W unit doesn't mean much. 12V amps range from 70 to 83.

750w for me because of my Strider Plus.

And a bit of a bump for more results.

Though I could have guessed that 750w would have been a popular category. It seems that most companies when suggesting units for SLi or Crossfire; no matter the card, say that 700-750w unit is recommended.
