So on one hand we have the Antec EA500D. This specific unit hasn't been reviewed, but Makalu opened up the Green version which is apparently the same thing with a beefed up primary and a green paint job. It's a fairly typical double forward group regulated unit from Delta with adequate voltage regulation, boringly mediocre ripple suppression, and fairly good build quality. It has an ugly gray finish, unsleeved cables, and is just an average, average, average power supply.
Then we have the Antec NeoECO 520W. Apparently some kind of precursor to the SeaSonic S12II 520/620 units, but with indy regulation. The voltage regulation is far, far superior to the Delta unit, and it has literally a quarter the +12V ripple. Nice finish, sleeved cables, all around good, maybe even great SeaSonic power supply. Plus it's 20W more than the EA500D if that matters.
Then why are they the same price before shipping? Hell, even with shipping the EA500D Green costs more for the sake of slightly higher efficiency.
Are Newegg stupid? Or geniuses?
