My first dedicated card was a BFG 9500GT. :/

According to mockingbird's theory, BFG will be back, but under another brand name in order to get out of warranty commitments with past customers. ;)

ummm...Guys April 1st was a month and a half ago...

I barely see any BFG PSUs on the market...the high end ES, and EX series seem to be especially scarce.
The boutique $5,000 computer market can only be so big, and that market is pretty crowded already.

What is the deal?

Maybe they're getting enough money off of Best Buy BFG GS-550 sales to sustain the company, if they shut down the GPU department?

ES was replaced with EX and we couldn't get enough EX-1000's, GS and GX product in to satisfy Best Buy's needs.

I've got another 1500 EX-1000's that I can bring in, but I'm curious what we can sell them for outside of Best Buy. My sales guy isn't very helpful. :D

I don't see the profit margin off of 1500 PSU's keeping a company like BFG in business for long. I sure hope they know what they are doing, but this doesn't look good.

Let me rephrase... I have 1500 EX-1000's that don't have to go to Best Buy that can go to etail. We also still have GS, GX and some new products coming in. I never implied that ALL we have is 1500 EX-1000's. :p

Jesus people... this was a joke. Mockingbird is a member that, in another forum thread, said that BFG, Evga and XFX were all companies that changed their name from something else in order to avoid dealing with warranties. Of course, he's mistaken on all three and this was pointed out to him.

Does the winky mean nothing these days? ;)

Are people PMing you about that comment?

Yes, I PM'd him about that and some other thing. I normally get these, but since the BFG announcement, I'm in no mood for jokes. Sorry. :)

That's what I get for taking things literally. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

It wasnt just the warranties they were squirming out of, it was also those outrageous rebates they offered.

Jonnyguru.com has spawned some sort of wormhole that allows mockingbird to communicate with us from his bizzaro universe

Would it be too much to ask that they update their damn website and let people know they're closing up shop. Call me crazy but isn't this what reputable companies usually do?

Yep. I doubt they're going to hire someone just to take down or change the website. ;)
