I am going to build a new PC and can not decide on the PSU.
So far I have come up with these parts:
CPU: Intel C2D 6300
M/B: ASUS P5B-E plus
RAM: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4
HDD: Seagate ST3400620AS (400GB,16MB) x 2
HDD: Seagate ST3160811AS (160GB,8MB)x1
GPU: 7600GS or X1650Pro PCI Express
ODD1: NEC 3500 (from old system)
ODD2: Plextor PX-708 (from old system)
ODD3: Toshiba DVD-ROM Drive (from old System)
PCI Cards: 1 ATA PCI card and 1 SCSI Card for External MO Drive
I may OC a little but only as much as the stock HSF would allow.
I have done some research and with consultation with my budget the options for a PSU are:
Seasonic
SS-550HT M12 550W
SS-500HM S12 ENERGY+ 500W
SS-600HM S12 ENERGY+ 600W
Silverstone
SST-ST60F Strider 600W
SST-ST52F Zeus 520W
AcBel
ATX-550W
Zippy
Zippy-500GE Type R 500W
I may add a few HDDs or a new Burner or so in the future so a PSU with a decent overhead for future upgrades would be good. I am thinking about a 550W (if possible I dont want a 600W and preferable a 500W or less) class PSU but do not know what would be enough for this build.
Thank you in advance for taking your time and for any advice given.
Best Regards,
Koba

If noise is not your concern go with Zippy. An Etasis build should be an Silverstone Zeus ST56ZF.

If you want silence the go for Seasonic S-12 Energy Plus 550 or Corsair HX520.
Or cheaper than Seasonic an Silverstone Element Plus 500.

Burebista thank you for your reply.
I dont get Corsair PSUs where I live but I think the Corsair is a Seasonic right?
According to your post a 500W seems to be OK. I would like to go with a Silverstone Zeus 56ZF but availability is not good where I live (Japan).
About noise: Noise is not a concern for me since I am used to the noise of 3 3000+RPM 80mm Fans (beside HSF for CPU etc) in my old system lol.

I know that there are many threads like this and that my post is a long one.
But I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you,
Koba

If noise is not your concern go with Zippy then.
Personally I'd go with Seasonic Energy Plus.

I still like the M12 600, which is what I thought you ment, along with 3 or so
clients that insisted on it, despite it's 60mm fan, that I've only heard spin up
on one of the rigs {SLI'ed 7900GTX's}Then it slowly winds down to nothing:)

But then again, it's up to you;)
Good luck.
