Which of these two PSU are better overall?

Durability, reliability mostly. Both are quiet and cool running from what I see so far. I don't care about appearance at all.

Which would YOU use in YOUR system and why? (assuming you decided that you were going with 1200W of power)

I tried but the EVO fails to start the system with all the drives attached. That damn red light comes on after the system beeps! :wall:

Put the TT in there and it fires right up and just plain works.

I'm willing to bet if I swung that EVO by its cord and launched it I could get 50 meters out of it. :lol:

And you're surprised that the Enermax isn't working? It's probably the same compatibility problem as the other Classified board, which means you'll need to get the PSU replaced by the newer revision by Enermax.

Actually yes I am because it DID work on the bench with just a single HDD. In the chassis with the RAID card and drives it does NOT work.

Definitely a defective PSU. I don't think I'm asking for any more Enermax PSUs after this. Believe it or not the most rugged PSU that's held up to ridiculous treatment has been the Ultra X3 1600.

I am leaning toward the new Silverstone 1500 to replace them but I don't like the omission of a switch. A PSU should always have a switch. I believe it's a requirement here as well. Oh well.

If the PSU worked with the same system on a test bench and isn't working in the case, then you're doing something wrong.

Well let's just put it this way...

It was broken down and yes the PSU is at fault.
Everything that was in the case was replicated on the bench step by step and it failed at the same point. Identically. The PSU would work with everything in the case (as it did on the bench) until the BIOS profile was restored (engaging OC) and the PSU would shut down immediately with a red light. Same thing on the bench.

Anywhere a wire touches a cutout on the tray there is a bushing. Everything is tested for shorts BEFORE power is applied.

When this procedure was repeated with Toughpower 1200W and Ultra X3 1600W PSUs, everything passed with flying colors.

The SN on the EVO starts with 94 and Enermax has confirmed anything before 95 has issues with these boards. The 759 classified failed to POST regardless of what was hooked up. There was no starting the system PERIOD with that PSU.

I could get it replaced but it does work fine in every OTHER board so it will probably get used in my Gulftown system. :)

I would imagine not a Classified board since his unit doesn't seem to work with them.

Works fine with Asus P6T6 Revolution, P6T WS Pro, and P6T7 Supercomputer boards. The major fault with these boards is the "feature" which switches the turbo multi on and off rapidly at very high TDP.
