Looks like Jonny is hanging with 8800GTS cards in SLI these days.

Can 14AGW fit into an ATX pin? That's a hell of a step up from the typical 18AWG. SuperMicro units use 16AWG.
WOW! The sinks sure are different from the 850 watter.:) It's almost 80Plus certifiable.
How deep is it? How loud?

Actually, those are eVGA GTX cards.

Yeah. The 14g goes about half way down the cables and is then split into 16g underneath some heatshrink before getting split off into the connectors at the end. Very cool.

That's what they're working on now. Getting that 79% up to 80%.
How deep is it? How loud?
It's only 6.5" deep and the 135MM fan is VERY quiet.

Very cool ;) The use of 14AWG keeps the typical rats nest of wiring around the output/secondary caps to a minimum. This will help the electrolytics lead a long healthy cool life.
I've tried crimping two 18AWG wires into an ATX pin and it is not an easy task. :)
One more question, what cap brand is the PCB populated with? Or should I just wait for the review? :D

is that a sneak peek (p)preview you got there ?
Because I can't find that PSU anywhere on Ultra's site, X-Pro series contain only 2 versions with 800w being the biggest, and trying search is useless as "ULT-1000" is M.I.A. :p
Be a good santa (^^ not like those on the other thread), a nice review gift for christmas
I wonder if it will be available for europe

With Active PFC it's ready for Europe. :cool:indeed :o
but I meant if it will be accessible for people like me/here in Belgium, since I haven't seen yet any Ultra PSU, listed in the stores around here (online too).
anyway, beautiful aesthetics.

Made by CWT or Andyson or Seventeam or is it a new OEM?

It's not SevenTeam.
All of the Energy Efficient models are Andyson.

Interesting - that's what I got off the UL number. My first thought was Andyson.

THIS is what Jonny ment when he said wait a bit before buying a new PSU. Good thing I held off on that zeus850 order! Looks like a real winner there.
What I really really like is the location of the plug and switch at the back. Having it in the center means I can mount it any way I want, and not be stuck with the 120mm fan pointing upside down. very good!

They migt have used the label off the SevenTeam built 1kW sample since the specs are the same. This thing came in a white box w/ Chinese writing on it. It's not a finished sample. It's like that 600W madmat got. :D I doubt we'll see this thing on the shelves until Jan or Feb.

Whats the length of those cables? Looks just like that ultra x-pro 600W... Would be a shame if its too short for large towers :(

jonnyGURU,
If the small pictures is what I think it is, it looks like the cables have the nice thick sleeving on them (ie "non-fishnet"). Am I right?
Also, would you know where to buy such sleeving? I have bought sleeving kits in the past but its all the fishnet stuff.
....wait a bit before buying a new PSU. Good thing I held off....
Same here.

http://www.action-electronics.com/expandablesleeving.htm They carry 3M heatshrink but only in 4' lengths.
http://www.allelectronics.com/ sells very servicable heatshrink by the foot. It's not as good as 3M's stuff.
Tooling for removing pins can be had at performance-pcs or jab-tech. jab-tech carries a neat-o ratchet pin crimper for $17. Action electronics carries pins in bulk for cheap. PM me for the part numbers if you can't finger it out. ;)
Harbor Freight has a good heat gun for << $20. I got mine on sale for $9.95.
